the crypto cats campaign

In February 2018, Robinhood launched commission-free crypto trading. Five weeks later, its brand team ran a 30-piece “Electro Bladerunner Vegas” OOH campaign across San Francisco’s MUNI network — Crypto Cats was variant one. Here’s what its designer, Daniel Haire, wrote when he posted it.

Everything in one place: Cryptos, stocks, options, ETFs, meowing cats, stoic cats, and derpy cats. Sometimes visualizing abstract financial concepts goes off the rails, and that's fine. We should all explore life off the rails. Being on the rails is dangerous, what if a train was coming. Anyways, we decided to go with a Electro Bladerunner Vegas theme which fulfilled the number one slot on my style direction bucket list.

This is a variant of 1/30 pieces of creative I worked on with @Robert Thompson that will be saturating SF MUNI stops an billboards within the month. Keep your eyeballs peeled if you're in the area.

the cat still lives

Robinhood’s 2018 crypto launch left behind more than the ad. This endpoint still answers. Nothing’s proxied — your browser talks to Robinhood directly.
